The Full Story
Hi! I am Karen Wong. I have been knitting since I learned from my grandmother at five. I enjoy the challenge of cable and lace, and prefer knitting garments in the round and sleeves that don't have to be sewn on.
I have completed Becoming a Proofreader course conducted by Knowadays (fka Proofreading Academy) and Learn to Tech Edit Knitting course from The Tech Editor Hub.
I live in sunny Singapore with my husband and a cat. I have three adult children. My two sons live in Singapore; my daughter has her own home in Edmonton, Canada. I retired from full-time work in 2019 to pursue my hobbies.
Singapore is on the equator and, as such, is warm all year round. 30°C ambient temperatures and 80% humidity are common -- definitely tee-shirt and shorts all the time. I like knitting sweaters and cardigans in wool but, unless we travel to cooler climes, there isn't much opportunity to wear them. I should explore other fibres. Even so, I always have a project on my needles.
